By the conclusion of this blog, I hope you acquire understanding and wisdom on how to love one another as Jesus desires. Family has always been and will continue to be a sensitive topic for many of us. As a young girl, I always treasured my family. Being an only child for 10 years, I certainly grew up surrounded by unmeasurable love and care. I was definitely a grandma's and grandpa's girl, and no one could tell me otherwise! I still am to this day, lol.

As I grew older and became wiser, I examined my family more closely and realized there were many unresolved emotions, complex communication, and underlying trauma. I felt called to my purpose, which involved receiving revelations about my bloodline and the challenges we face. I frequently ask my grandparents about their childhood and their experiences as young adults because it genuinely fascinates me, and now I understand why. It's because I want to know my history, which helps me comprehend various aspects of my upbringing, our traditions, and much more.

I am the person who points out the obvious at family gatherings or calls for a family meeting when things are misunderstood. I like to uncover the truth because we have an adversary that wants to divide us and prevent us from loving one another. Our struggle is not against flesh and blood. With Christmas and the New Year rapidly approaching, a time traditionally filled with joy, reflection, and the spirit of giving, I wish to take a moment to delve deeper into the profound power of love. Love, in its many forms, serves as a transformative force that can heal wounds, mend relationships, and foster unity among individuals and families. It is essential to recognize that during this festive season, we not only celebrate the joy of togetherness but also confront the challenges that may arise from generational struggles and the burdens that have been passed down through our bloodlines.

Throughout history, many have experienced the weight of strongholds, bonds, and curses that seem to linger, affecting our lives and the lives of those we hold dear. These strongholds can manifest as negative patterns, unhealthy relationships, or even emotional and spiritual turmoil that hinder our ability to fully embrace the happiness that this season brings. The enemy, in various forms, seeks to impose these obstacles, attempting to create division and strife within families and communities.

However, the essence of love is powerful enough to break these chains. By embracing love—whether it be through acts of kindness, forgiveness, understanding, or compassion—we can begin to dismantle the barriers that have been erected over time. This process often requires a conscious effort to recognize and confront the negative influences that have taken root in our lives. It is through love that we can reclaim our narratives, heal from past traumas, and set a new course for future generations.

As we gather with loved ones during this festive time, let us make a commitment to cultivate love in our hearts and homes. This means actively choosing to forgive those who may have wronged us, reaching out to those who feel isolated or forgotten, and fostering open communication within our families. By doing so, we can create an environment where love flourishes, allowing us to break free from the cycles of negativity that have held us captive for far too long.

It is our responsibility to ensure that future generations inherit a lineage marked by love, strength, and resilience rather than one burdened by the weight of curses and strongholds. Together, we can usher in a new era of healing and empowerment, where love reigns supreme, illuminating the path toward brighter days ahead.

Here are five methods to break generational bonds and curses to love one another as the Lord intended.

  1. Truth

Let's kick this off with a hard hit! One thing the enemy despises is the truth, and with truth there is healing. Being vulenerabe and without pride to tell one another how you feel is the start of a healthy journey. Understand that the truth can be a lot but through Jesus we can and will conquer.

  2. Forgivness

We cannot overcome generational curses and strongholds without genuine forgiveness. We are called to forgive endlessly and without limit, as stated in Matthew 18:21-22. If we fail to forgive promptly and sincerely, we allow the enemy to gain a foothold in our lives and families. I recognize how challenging it can be to forgive when someone causes us pain, but we must realize who our true adversary is. It is not each other.

  1. Fruits of the Spirit

To truly love each other as God intends, we must embody the fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These qualities are essential for loving properly. Will we perfect them? Certainly not, but we should strive to do our very best.

  2. Relationship

The more I pursued my relationship with Jesus, the more my desire to love genuinely grew. The scripture states to seek the kingdom first, and everything else will be given to you (Matthew 6:33). As I drew nearer to Jesus, things started to fall into place more easily. Does this mean I was free from struggles? Absolutely not; in fact, the challenges intensified, but throughout that process, I gained wisdom and understanding.

  3. PRAYER

The only way I've made it this far into my healing journey is becuaseof the prayers ive prayed! Those late night/early morning crys to set my bloodline free from any plots and schemes that the enemy has tried to bond us with. My family will be free, my children will be free , my childrens children will be free .. my childrens children children shall e set free from the strongholds of the enemy!

So with tears in my eyes I leave you with this. God didn't make any mistakes by assigning you to the family that you have. You have been carefully placed in your bloodline and you have the ability to change what the enemy has tried to destroy and take from you and your family. May you walk in peace and joy as Jesus restores what the enemy thought he took.

We also pray that you be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins. Colossians 1 NLT

Soooooo many good points to take away and begin applying. This was one of the most fruitful reads thus far, you could truly feel the presence of the Holy Spirt while reading each line. It had me on the edge of my seat with a notebook and pen. Part 2?.......
